Dear all, In 2011 it was notified to us that height barriers have been placed at the entrance to the rear car park of Queen Elizabeth Country Park (currently the Leg14/15 changeover). We have been in contact with the head of the park, but they cannot be 'opened' just for us. Anyway he has proved helpful and agreed to provide dedicated (free) parking for us just south of the Visitors Centre (Benhams Corner) at the front of the Park where the South Downs Way passes directly alongside the car park. In the longer term this is a much better changeover location. It adds 1.5 miles to Leg 14 (an easy leg anyway) making 5.5 miles. It removes the same from Leg 15 (a really tough leg up Butser Hill) now totalling 4 miles in length. Jonathan prepared a map to locate the exact location of the new changeover. The grid reference is 718183 (Explorer 120 map). Leg 14 runners will need to ensure they know the route through QE Park to the new changeover (clearly too late to visit), by discussing with the Leg 15 runner. It is very straightforward and apart from a short incline is all downhill! For drivers the entry and exit to the A3 going north and south is very simple.
